Our Area

With its Georgian marketplace, listed buildings and boutique shops Caistor is the gateway to the Lincolnshire Wolds. Noted for both its well respected Grammar School and Yarborough academy school the town prides itself on its inclusive community and has an active social agenda with its regular food fairs, weekly market, sports centre and an extensive arts and crafts programme. The name Caistor has Roman origins and parts of the original fortress walls can still be seen in the area around the Church and the town still maintains its importance as a local centre for the prestigious villages of Nettleton, Rothwell, Tealby and Cabourne together with other areas and lies between the larger settlements of Brigg, Market Rasen and Grimsby and the “ High Street “ ( B1225 ) leads across the top of the Lincolnshire Wolds, which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and on to Horncastle.
