Retford area guide

The Georgian market town of Retford offers residents a wide selection of shops and amenities.  It is surrounded by attractive countryside and Retford's Kings Park received national recognition in 2007 when it won the prestigious Britain's Best Park competition in the Midlands region.  For those wanting to visit or commute into the capital, London is just a 90 minute train ride away.

Lifestyle

Retford residents enjoy a relaxed lifestyle with ample pubs and restaurants, high street shops and various supermarkets to choose from.  It also enjoys surrounding countryside with pleasant walks and parks for those that enjoy the outdoors.

Retford benefits from having some highly rated schools located in the nearby area, with North Wheatley C of E Primary being one of the best in Nottinghamshire.  There is also a choice of private schools in the area, in the nearby villages of Ranby and South Leverton.

Transport Links

Retford has a mainline railway station with links into London Kings Cross and interestingly, the town represents an important point in the rail network where north, south, east and west meet.  By car, there are easy routes leading to other towns including Worksop, Bawtry, Gainsborough, Newark and even the cathedral city of Lincoln and the local buses service all villages within a 15 mile radius.
