Our Area

The Deepings refers to the historic towns of Market Deeping and Deeping St James. Market Deeping developed around the commercial use of the River Welland in the late 18th Century. The river is still an asset to the town, nowadays providing scenic walks and hosting some of the town’s popular events such as The Deeping Raft Race and the annual Duck Race. The River is navigable by foot from the Newton Fallowell office at Bridge Foot in Market Deeping right through to the Low Locks in Deeping St James.

Lifestyle

The Deepings benefits from a weekly Wednesday market and the High Street retains a great variety of independent retailers, including a local butcher and an award-winning fish and chip shop. There is also the convenience of a superstore in the town and a modern medical centre. The area is renowned for its schools including primary, secondary and a sixth form with an excellent reputation. There is also a wide variety of quality food and drink venues.

Transport links

The neighbouring commuter towns of Stamford and Peterborough are easily accessible by road or public transport, with excellent rail links to London from Peterborough in well under an hour. Buses also connect the Deepings to nearby towns such as Spalding and Bourne.

Buying or selling property

The Deepings and surrounding villages offer a wide variety of properties ranging from starter homes for first time buyers to period and executive properties, from period homes set along the banks of the River Welland to more modern estate homes built in the last few years. Currently a two bedroom starter home will cost in the region of £140,000 and a quality four bedroom executive property can reach in excess of £500,000. The housing market remains positive with a whole spectrum of property available between these prices. We are constantly looking for more property to satisfy the demand we have from buyers.
