Oadby is a small town in Leicestershire, five miles south east of Leicester City centre. There has been a habitation in Oadby since Anglo-Saxon times and it is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. In 2011, Oadby had a population of 23,849.

The town is famous for Leicester Racecourse, situated on the border between Oadby and Stoneygate, and the University of Leicester Botanical Garden.  The Leicester Tigers have their training ground in Oadby.

Lifestyle

A busy town, but with a village feel, just five miles from Leicester City centre. Oadby has its own high street with shops and a library, and is a culturally diverse community, where one in five residents are non-white British.

Many people move to Oadby to ensure that their child can go to Beauchamp College which has a good reputation, along with two feeder schools that are next to it.

Transport links

Oadby is close to the Leicester ring road, with easy access to the M1 and M69 motorways. There is a very good bus network between Oadby and Leicester, with buses running every 10 mins.

There is a strong, buoyant market, with a shortage of properties coming on to the market. As a mainly residential area, there is a wide range of properties available with prices ranging from £125,000 to £2,000,000.

Letting or renting property in Oadby

There is a shortage of letting property because of the very high demand in this area due to school and college catchment area. Properties tend to be let very quickly and the range of semi-detached and detached properties command rental prices from £600 – £1500 per month.
