About Bingham

Bingham is a traditional provincial market town, situated nine miles west of Nottingham on the intersection on the A52, the traditional road to the seaside from the East Midlands, and the newly duelled A46 Fosse Way, bringing Lincoln and Leicester both into easy access within about ½ hour drive, and bordering the beautiful pastoral scenery of the Vale of Belvoir; the area surrounding Belvoir Castle.

There is a busy general market every Thursday and regular farmers’ markets and town occasions held in the pretty market square, dominated by the historic Butter Cross, dating back to 1861, and there has been a market in the town since the early14th century.

The town has an expanding population of around 9000, with popular new developments, established estates and attractive period properties around the centre of the town, and there are plenty of parks play areas and open spaces, with the Linear Walk nature reserve, popular with dog walkers and gentle ramblers, on an old long forgotten railway line.

There are excellent schools in the town, with two primary, a junior and Toot Hill comprehensive school, having an outstanding Ofsted report for 2011.

Transport links are also very good, with a fantastic bus service to Nottingham every 15 minutes, and also serving the surrounding villages, and the train station with regular trains to Nottingham and Grantham, from where London Kings Cross is just over an hour away.

There is lifestyle choice for everyone; from quaint rural villages with local farm shops, countryside walks, warm and welcoming public houses and outstanding local restaurants, to the town; full of amenities, family activities, sport groups and with the late running public transport giving access to Nottingham City Centre until 3.00am on Friday nights and Saturday nights you can really let your hair down!

Offering a lifestyle which combines good commuting and easy access to the shops, nightlife and culture of the city, surrounded by attractive countryside and picturesque villages, in a traditional but also thriving town, Bingham has a bit of, but the best of, everything.

Buying or Selling Property in Bingham

There really is something here for everyone; from affordable starter homes; with 1 bedroom houses from under £80,000 to country manors at over £1,000,000, and detached family homes on pleasant new build and established estates to picturesque quirky cottages in the villages.

Demand for family properties in particular is always high, with many buyers choosing to re-locate to Bingham from Nottingham and the suburbs, because of the good schools and family friendly environment and community.

Due to the proximity of and good transport into Nottingham, Bingham is also popular with young working professionals; and there is a good range of well priced homes to suit these buyers, especially on the new estates, with the fresh designs and styling from developers offering a mix of town houses, coach houses and traditional properties with contemporary and high spec interiors.

Properties to Let in Bingham

The local lettings market is extremely strong, with demand usually outstripping supply, and landlords enjoying a buoyant market. Well presented and well priced properties are never empty, and we often have a waiting list of prospective tenants for the most popular areas.

Prices range from around £395 pcm for a one bedroom apartment, a small two bedroom terrace would be from £425 pcm, and a detached three bedroom house with a garage would be around £675 pcm.

In the surrounding villages there is an abundance of executive and character properties commanding higher rental values, attracting re-locating professionals from all over the country.

At Newton Fallowell, we tailor our service to meet individual Landlord’s requirements; some want a completely “arms length” experience, where we manage the property on a day to day basis , and as we are open 7 days a week, the landlords have complete peace of mind that their tenants will always have somebody to turn to. Alternatively, perhaps a professional Landlord simply wants us to quickly find suitable tenants for a property, carry out the comprehensive referencing and tenancy paperwork efficiently, and move them in.
