House Price Growth in the UK


 

  • The latest house price data published by Land Registry shows that UK House prices are growing and have increased by 2.2% in the year to November 2019. This is the highest level of annual growth recorded since November 2018. As of November 2019, the average price of a property across the UK is £235,298.
  • House prices in Wales were up 7.8% compared to last year, while England saw a rise of 1.7% in this time. In English regions, the West Midlands saw the largest property price growth in the year to November 2019, with a 4% increase. The North West saw the second largest rise at 3.8%, followed by Yorkshire and the Humber at 2.6%.
  • In London, property prices grew 0.2% in the year to November 2019. This is the first increase since February 2018, (excluding September 2019).
  • The December 2019 RICS Residential Market Survey results point to an uplift in sentiment following the result of the General Election. Respondents are more positive about new buyer enquiries and 66% of survey participants envisage a rise in sales over the coming year.
