Blooming Marvellous!

This week (21st to 25th May) marks the biggest show in the gardening calendar, The RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Planting trends emerging from the garden designers this year include lupins, foxgloves and an abundance of British flowers.

Reflecting our love of horticulture, many English and Welsh home addresses feature floral names. In the last 12 months, over 6,000 home sales have included one of the nine 'on trend' flowers in their addresses, with Rose being the most popular, followed by Tulip.

While Salvia was present in fewer address names during this period, it commanded the highest average sale price of over £590,000. Rose and Foxglove were more prevalent in residential addresses and had similar average prices of over £292,000.

Residential sales with floral names including Marigold, Iris, Poppy, Foxglove, Rose and Salvia have also, on average, exceeded the average home price recorded for England and Wales as a whole in this period, at £229,701.
